Review and Giveaway: Death's Dream Kingdom by

Photobucket

About the book
Cera is an ordinary wife and mother who enjoys the simple things in life, until the night she is murdered. In death, Cera finds herself trapped in a shadow land somewhere between the land of the living and the land of the dead, where demons, ghosts, and old gods roam the streets preying on the living. It is up to Cera to find out why the line between the living and the dead is fading and how the rift between worlds can be mended. Pulled into a quest that takes her to hell and back and into the arms of an ancient, demon lover, she finds that she is a child of the Fates and that she alone can challenge death himself for dominion over his kingdom.

My Review:  First, I would like to say that the cover is gorgeous.  It really is eye-catching, and makes you want to pick the book up.

Death's Dream Kingdom was a different read.  It's paranormal and mythology, but not your average mythology or parnanormal story.  The Gods and Goddess included belong to many different regions.  Not only are the Fates heavily embroiled in the story, but Eygptian gods and goddess including Isis have a large part.  Christianity also comes to play with demons and fallen angels.  There are also vampires and reapers.

The world building and imagery is beautifully done.  I really like Sin's character.  It's hard to tell which side she is on throughout the book.  I am not going to tell you if she is good or bad or what team she is on - you'll have to read the book to find out.  Either way, Sin is one of my favorites.

The pacing is well done, moving the plot along at a speed that keeps you turning pages.  If you, like me are a mythology fan, you will not be disappointed.
