Top Ten Tuesday - Top 10 Books You'd Like to See Made Into a Movie

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Broke and Bookish.  Check back every week for a top ten book related topic.  This weeks topic is the top ten books you would like to see made into a movie.  If you'd like to participate, grab the image, post your top 10 choices and link back to Broke and Bookish and then check out the lists other's made.

Here is my list - and in no particular order:

1.  Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz.  - I've always liked Dean Koontz as a writer, and especially love the Odd Thomas series.  The last book in the series is on the way.  Sadly, Dean Koontz books don't really translate well into movies (think Watchers).  I think with a bigger budget and the right cast, Odd Thomas could be an amazing movie.

2. The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross - I recently finished this steam punk book and I'm anxiously awaiting the next one.  Steam punk is a new genre for me, but I think the translation to film would be cool.  Finley Jane is a kickbutt female character, and I am in love with Jack Dandy!

3. Kings and Queens by Courtney Vail - I read this book in March and just reviewed it for her book tour and its a great book.  It's full of plot twists and turns, really great characters and suspense.  I think a film version of it would be awesome.

4.  The Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton - Kick butt vampire slaying necromancer, falls in love with the cities head vampire and forms a love triangle with a stubborn jealous werewolf, while saving people's lives, working as a bounty hunter, and wracking up a body count.  I love Anita.  This series (well the early books) would make a great movie.

5.  The Elemental Assasin series by Jennifer Estep - I just finished the first book in the series and I think it could be a good movie.  Gin is a bounty hunter with elemental magic.  There's also a smoldering cop and interesting side characters.  Kind of reminds me a little of a southern Sin City.  (I'm starting to notice a theme here with all the kick butt female characters, lol).

6. Watched by Cindy Hogan - Watched is the story of Christy, a 15 year old girl on a trip to Washington D.C. with a bunch of other kids.  They witness a political assasinination by a terrorist group, and become caught in the terrorists web - running for their lives and trying to stay alive long enough to tell the FBI what happened.

7. The Caster Chronicles series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl- This series just really grabs me, and keeps me reading.  I love the southern gothic quality that it has.  I like that it's told from the point of view of the male lead character.  I like all the magical elements.  I just hope that when they make it they don't cheese it up.

8.  A Visit From the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan - we read this book for book club, and it's pretty interesting -but sometimes hard to follow because it jumps back and forth from different characters points of views to different times and generations all together.  It's cool because it all ties together.  A character mentioned vaguely in one chapter resurfaces later in another chapter connected to other people's stories.  It would be interesting to see it visually, to make those connections come alive.

9.  The Faefever series by Karen Marie Moning - Two words - Jericho Barrons.  Hot!!! and a battle between humans and faeries for the survival of the human race.  A snarky teenage side-kick that's lightning fast and dispatches evil fairies as if there is nothing to it (Dani) and a heroine that's a lot southern belle - all glitter and rainbows and her transformation to the butt-kicking, fairy-fighting heroine.

10. Motor Mouth and Metro Girl by Janet Evanovich - I have to confess, Janet Evanovich books make me laugh out loud.  Literally.  Her characters get into the craziest situations.  Her side characters add huge doses of humor.  Her leading men are lovable.  Her heroines have spunk.  I think these books could be a fun, girl movie.

I've read the first book in the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning but I completely plan on finishing the series. I loved it. And I think it would make movies that I would certainly watch!

I haven't read The Caster Chronicles or The Girl in the Steel Corset, but they are on my TBR and I'm hoping to get to them soon, especially Steel Corset. And, oh yeah, Goon Squad. You have a good list. :)

I have to agree, Anita Blake would make an awesome movie! Especially book two (I've only read up to the third), with all the zombie action going on... it would totally be worthwhile. Maybe one day! Thanks for stopping by and following!
