 My Review:

Cecelia Gray does it again.  This is the third book in her Jane Austen Academy series, and I loved it just as much as the first two.  When I'm With You is a modern, YA retelling of Northingar Abbey.  The star of this part of the series is Kat Morley.  She is Jane Austen Academy's star actress, and she's deserving of her position.  But stage acting isn't enough for Kat, so she follows Josh to the set of his current movie, to work as his assistant.  Josh, is ever the jerk.

Kat is determined to break out and become a film actress, even if it means being a little brutish about it.  She goes about things the wrong way, not really making any fans in the process.  She grows a lot as a character in this book, and learns some valuable lessons about the right way to get what you want.

The love interest is Henry, and that relationship is typical to Jane Austen books.  Unfortunately, I only read Northanger Abbey once, and it was a long time ago, so I'm definitately going to have to reread now and get a better idea of how the two books compare.

Another well written take on a classic by Cecilia Gray.  The books contain great character development and world-building.  These books are fun to read and make me nostalgic for Austen's work.
About the Author

Cecilia Gray lives in Oakland where she reads, writes and breaks for food. She also pens her biographies in the third person. Like this. As if to trick you into thinking someone else wrote it because she is important. Alas, this is not the case.

Cecilia has been praised for "instilling a warmth and weight into her characters" (Romancing The Book Reviews) and her books have been praised for being "well-written, original, realistic and witty" (Quills & Zebras Reviews).

Her latest series of young-adult contemporary Jane Austen retellings was named a What's Hot pick (RT Book Reviews magazine) and is a Best of 2012 pick (Kirkus Reviews) where it was praised for being a "unique twist on a classic" and offering "a compelling mix of action, drama and love."
