Demeter Giveaway!

In an effort to get get more traffic to my blog, and make it better, I'm hosting a Demeter Fragrance Library giveaway. I have a set of four fragrances: 2 Pick Me up Sprays in Wet Garden and Honeysuckle and 2 fragrance splashes in Chocolate Chip Cookie and Rye Bread. All are the 1/2 oz size. They are all new, and have never been used. I haven't opened the Wet Garden or the Honeysuckle as I don't do flower scents, but the Chocolate Chip Cookie smells amazing and the Rye Bread smells just like fresh baked rye bread.

Winner will be selected by random number generator on November 15th. Winner will have 1 week to respond to my winner notification and then an alternate will be chosen. Winner will also be announced in a blog post after prize is accepted. This giveaway is not being sponsered or supported by Demeter in any way.

**Due to the cost of shipping, this contest is only open to residents of the United States.

There will be multiple ways to enter, and each entry should be left in a seperate comment so that random number generator works correctly.

IMPORTANT: First Entry: In order to enter please look around my blog and tell me something that I can do to improve it. I haven't spent much time blogging lately and I know I could use some work. Please be constructive - not mean (Keep in mind I work a full time job, go to school full time, and am a part time mom, with limited knowledge of html). I will be reading each and every comment, and I really would like to improve. This entry must be done for any other entry to count. Anyone that doesn't first do this step will be deleted.

Additional entries:

1 entry - add me to blogger favorites
1 entry - follow me on twitter
1 entry - tweet about my givewaway then come back and post the link
2 entrys - add my contest to a contest site or mr linky and leave me the link to the entry
2 entrys - read one of my other blog entries and leave a meaningful comment on the entry then come back here and tell me which entry you commented on.

2 entry - I like baking, so email me your favorite cookie or cupcake recipe to rasberryswrlgirl@ hotmail.com then come back here and tell me you did it. Be creative - no chocolate chip or peanut butter unless there is something extra special about them.

Any questions, send me an email and I will be happy to answer. Thanks for reading and entering!

  1. I think you could spice up the background and maybe make your own banner to make the site look a little more appealing.

  6. I just started blogging so I don't know a whole lot but I would say that you should personalize your blog a little more. Change the layout background or he header. I'm not too savvy with html so I used a layout from pyzam instead of one from blogger. Other than that I think your blog is pretty good.

  7. you may try switching your banner to something a little more personal or appealing. I believe there are a lot of sites out there that can make you a customized banner or that offer some pretty pre-made ones that would give your blog a little more pizazz. :]

  8. My first thought was "too much pink" but pink is one of my least favorite colors so I'm prejudiced. I am really interested in books and reading (as you can tell from my blog since it's all about books) so I like your posts about books and would like to see more reviews and recommendations. The only other thing I can think of is more photos, since they really dress up a blog (like in your post about the candles.) Whatever you do, have fun with it!

  9. Yeah, I'm with the other posters-tone down the pink-sort of looks like an ad for Pepto Bismol! LOL.

  46. Hello! Your blog is a great start! A few suggestions - visit "Cutest Blog on the Block" for some free backgrounds - you could keep the pink theme but a pattern would tone it down. This site has awesome backgrounds, and instructions on how to apply those backgrounds. You could also add a picture to your header - just google "free (insert picture you would like here) clipart" - make sure you are on search images, and of course make sure the image you select is not copyrighted. I also didn't see a google followers box on your blog - these are nice to have and lets you know who is reading your blog. You can also grab buttons from sites you follow for extra decorations, or create a button of your own that others can add to their site (also increasing your blog traffic). Blogger has lots of gadgets you can add for interest - I have the Fish one on my blog as it's adorable - and you can "feed" them :)

  52. My favorite thing about your blog is the color scheme. It's perfect. The thing I would like to see the most -- or rather, FIRST on your blog -- is a split second identifier. Many bloggers use special graphics, photos, or illustrations of themselves (or their online selves) so visitors can stamp their minds with who you are and what you're about.

    racheliznewman(at)gmail(dot)com

    ReplyDelete
  53. Honestly, I disagree with the last poster. I do not like your color scheme. My eyes get tired, and pink--especially pink on burgundy--is a little painful.

  81. There are two easy ways that I think you could improve your blog. The first is to get a theme with more personality. The pink is nice but it doesn't give any impression of who you are or what your blog is about. The second suggestion is to categorize your blog posts. I don't know much about blogs either but I think a lot of blog themes include a sidebar section that says "Categories". That way if someone comes to your blog to look for bath products they don't have to go through all of your book posts to find them. All I had to do to get the categories listed on my sidebar was find a theme with it built in. If you still don't know what I'm talking about you can checkout my blog and you'll see that I have 'categories' listed under 'archives' on my sidebar. http://fionen.com Best of luck!

  106. Some suggestions:
-Find someone to jazz up your title and background. All you have to do is shell out the money. :-)
-In extra entries for giveaways, some things aren't apparent, so explain things like your readers are five years old. Tell us where these extra entries can be found.
-Make it easy for people to find ways to follow you: follow on google friend connect, follow on twitter, subscribe to rss feed, etc, all need to be in one easy-to-find frame.
